I’m #1!

#1 at what? you ask…

Well, let me tell ya. I was the very first TKA client to see their fabulous new office!

I’m very sad that I missed meeting the office girls (hi Sam, Elaine and Julie) who apparently worked their collective tails off cleaning. (the office GLEAMED, by the way. Nice job.) I was supposed to get there around 4, unfortunately, I didn’t set my watch forward an hour so, when we left Atlanta at 2:15, we were really leaving at 3:15. Which probably still would’ve been okay, if everyone in Atlanta hadn’t taken Friday afternoon off work just to hang out on I-285 just to make my life miserable. Yes, traffic. It is not my friend.

So, Maria and I made it there about 5:15. We toured the office with Deidre and Pamela Harty. Then we headed back to Deidre’s big, beautiful, warm and welcoming home, where we ate and drank and made merry with her fabulous (despite his political preferences) husband, Jud.

It was a fabulous time. Of course, we stayed WAY too late, but it was so worth it the hour drive back into Atlanta at the stroke of midnight. (no traffic on I-20 or I-285 at midnight, btw.)

So, here are some lovely pictures…I also get to be the 1st to tell you that Deidre is no longer a blonde! And boy, does she look fab-o!

<–This picture is of me and D in her big, beautiful office.

Here is Maria in the TKA kitchen.

Look at this ceiling! It’s gorgeous!

We had such a wonderful time. I don’t know what I did to deserve such great friends, but I’m thankful for it!

  1. LOL, Lisa!! My mom told me yesterday, “You look like you are a member of this family again.” :)Mel and Maria were a blast, y’all. We had such a good time, and wow, can’t believe she neglected to mention that a deer was hit on Main St while we sat on my front porch having our wonderful glasses of wine. It was a very southern moment. :)Mel, you’re a doll and I love ya!D

  2. Deidre, let’s just say I’d recognize you a lot faster at the airport this way. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I love the brown, though. It looks great on you. Mel: I really don’t know what came over me. Next time I’ll be sure to use the Philly-appropriate “yous guys.”

  3. And I can only say dahlink…Glad you dahlinks are having a great time while I’m slaving away on a hot computer…that doesnt’ sound right. Actually it’s a damn lie anyway. I’ve been hot tubbing with my SIL who is visiting. (I know…how L.A…) ;)Gina dahlink

  4. Great write-up, Mel! And I agree with everything you say (except the part about my politics leaving something to be desired ;-). And glad you liked the post about rotten movies at my site. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes is a major classic! After you left the other night, I was reflecting on how much I had enjoyed meeting you, and the fact that you lived up to all the expectations built by Deidre’s effusive description of you. As I was mentally cataloging your virtues, I thought–without a trace of irony–“I know she’s tasteful and perceptive–she reads my blog.” LOL!
