Happy Thanksgiving

Well, it’ll be quiet here for the next few days. Here being my blog that is.

We’ll play host to a house full of people tomorrow. Then Friday morning, we’ll be taking the mutts to hang out at the Doggie Spa until Monday while we embark on a 6 hour drive to Mobile, AL. My husband’s godson is getting baptized Sunday, so we’re going down to play a little early.

More than likely the spiders will take over here while I’m gone…I’ll sweep the cobwebs down as soon as I get home.

Meanwhile, why don’t you tell me your favorite part of the holidays. It can be whatever…food, drink, family, football, solitary confinement…I don’t care.

I’ll start.

My favorite part of the holiday, hands down, is my pies. 🙂

#2 is the wine. LOL

  1. People are the best part of Thanksgiving!!

I have to work every other Thanksgiving, so the ones that I’m off (like this year) I’m thankful to be with my whole family at my mom’s house in Melbourne. The Thanksgivings I’m working, I’m thankful to be my husband and kids in my own home and especially thankful for my coworkers. That might sound strange, but after working as a nurse for 20 years, I’m used to a lot of holidays with my fellow workers. I’m grateful to have them to lean on and grateful to be able to be to make a difference in someone’s life. There’s nothing like having a baby on the holidays to bring an extra smile to your face. I still get a huge kick out of sharing that moment with a couple of strangers, who, of course, aren’t strangers anymore after that.

  2. Hmmm. My favorite part is…being thankful. I know that sounds cheesy, but I like the annual reminder that we shouldn’t take things for granted. Even without all the food, I get a fullness out of Thanksgiving that makes me feel good.

  3. I like the turkey, stuffing, and pie. But, it’s not all about food. Because, I drink a little too. :):):) Food and drink.

I’m thankful for family and for all we have in the way of food (again), shelter, livlihood, etc… I like that it isn’t a holiday given over to commercialism. T-Day rocks!

Have a great day everyone. 🙂

  4. Getting to see my busy brother. Eating Mom’s turkey and gravy, potatoes and gravy… And, having my hubby home. *sigh* It was bliss to sit on the sofa with a glass of wine in my hands and my hubby beside me.

  5. Days off from work? Of course I was really thankful that I got to drive to Jackson to see Kevin’s family just to turn around 24 hours later to drive like a mad-woman back to my family’s Thanksgiving. I also like getting up at 4:30 this morning to go to Fred’s and Wal Mart to try to get good deals…somehow I ended up spending a LOT more money than I meant to. Good times, good times. No seriously…I like spending time with the loved ones and having a good laugh at someone else’s expense

  6. My favorite part of Thanksgiving is taking time to remember all I have to be thankful for! 🙂 Sometimes it’s so easy to get wrapped up in all the little stuff that bogs us down! I’m grateful for a day to remind ourselves of all the blessings we DO have.
