A conflict of interest? As a TKA client, I think not!

Deidre Knight posted a fantastic blog on a continuing misconception in the publishing/agenting world. This being that it is a conflict of interest for an agent to write books in the same genre she represents.

Check out her blog and then let her know what you think! She’s opened the forum up for discussion.

  1. Thanks for posting this, Mel-O-Goddess. 🙂 It’s a fabulous discussion over there on the TKA blog, and we are excited to see so many folks chiming in.

  2. I believe it. I would be concerned if I didn’t understand how it worked. But I see it, first person, and so I’m not concerned. You see a situation, evaluate it, etc. I know people who question agents having two clients who write in the same genre. Again, it’s a question of needing to understand how it works.

  3. Thanks for the link, Mel. Deidre makes an incredibly strong case for herself. Her record speaks volumes for the hard work she puts in for her clients.

  4. If TKA had a less than stellar sales record, I’d see a reason for concern but man, can anything stop them? They’re on fire!

  5. Oh please….I don’t have an agent, but trust me, every one I’ve ever queried I’ve researched well…..to worry about something so….oh, it’s just absurd sometimes.
