beer cans and cherries…

Day 3 on the exercise trail. This morning I counted 17 beer cans; 8 of which were Bud Light. Folks around here like that Bud Light. I would pick up the cans while I walked, but that would just distract me from actual forward motion. Plus it’s too much like work. And frankly, I think the fact that I’m getting up and walking should count as plenty pre-coffee work.

Recycling day is tomorrow. When the guys take up our aluminum, they are gonna think we mainlined Bud Light over the last two weeks. But, it wasn’t us…I swear it. The Sierra Nevada and Flying Dog bottles are ours and they come in a distant 2nd to the lads’ Bud Light cans.

Spoke to Grant last night. He’s doing okay in Louisiana. Family seems nice he says and the camp is going fine. He’s going to try to drop by Saturday on his way to Memphis. That would be awesome. Wish Si could be with him. That would be even more awesome.

Speaking of Grant (no Simon, that does not mean he’s my favorite)–Still working on my 80s blog. I’m looking for a couple of old pics of me that truly express the dress and hair of the time. And the shoulder pads. God, we loved our shoulder pads. Hopefully, I’ll find the pics I’m looking for and will then properly humilate myself.

And one last note– I’m on the Harry and David mailing list and today I received an email from them with the best subject line EVER:

Last Call for our Huge, Sweet Cherries

Honestly, how awesome is that? It’s not even Spam!!!

  1. I must have unsubbed from their mailing list because I didn’t get that. ;)And as for shoulder pads…lil old non-conformist me wouldn’t have anything to do with them in the 80’s. Besides which, they always made me look like a linebacker and I don’t even like football.

  2. My 4 yr old girlie and I sit together and go through every page of the Harry and David catalogue together. I read out the descriptions and we pick our favorites. All the males in our family think we are mad-but my girlie and I-we get it.

  3. I hadn’t heard of Harry and David (dweeb factor again) so clicked on the link. Clearly, I was missing out on something good! Yum! :)Like Gina, I tried to avoid the 80’s shoulder pads too–not always successfully. LOL.
