way back machine

I totally listened to some Air Supply this morning. And you know what? I loved every second of it.

I was in 6th grade when Air Supply came to Little Rock, AR. It was my very first concert and my momma took me. She figured it was Air Supply–should be pretty tame. Imagine Mom’s shock when the girl sitting next to her asked permission to smoke a joint.

See, Air Supply fans had manners. I don’t remember anyone at the miriad of concerts I attended after that asking MY permission to smoke a joint…

Anyway, now that y’all are laughing your ass off at the fact that I’m outing my love affair with Air Supply–let me ask you something. What’s your secret and possibly embarrassing lurve? Come on…you can share. I won’t tell a soul. Really.

  1. I have a secret love of Ambrosia. I blogged about it months ago. When I went searching for the songs, I forgot who even sang them. Ambrosia is cool.I used to make fun of Air Supply when I was young but now I can admit it. I like their music.I guess we’re into easy listening, huh? LOL :)I had to visit you cos I feel like I’m stalking you around the various blogs…

  2. Hey Karen! thanks for popping in. Yes, I do remember Ambrosia. Very popular at the Skating Rink on Friday nights…I dunno if I’d say i’m TOTALLY into easy listening. But yes, I do love my Air Supply. (okay and Barry Manilow, too. Shut up.)

  3. I remember where I was the first time I heard an Air Supply song. I was in tech training at Keesler AFB, MS. With my first almost-boyfriend.And I still love their music. Enough so that I marked the dates they’ll be at the casino in January.Other secret music loves: Barry Manilow (although he can be a bit depressing). And the Bee Gees. I love the Bee Gees. (But listen to the song “Nights on Broadway”. I swear a lot of their songs are stalking songs.)
