Tell Paula Abdul to STFU!!!!!
I don’t really watch American Idol as religiously as The Fishdog. Truth be told, I don’t really like the show until the final 6 or so, because let’s face it, the performances up until then can be sketchy at best.
I also have an issue with the fact that it’s a popularity contest and not a talent contest. If it were based on talent alone, there are a few finalists/winners that wouldn’t be. (koff, Clay Aiken, koff, Justin Guarini, koff, Carrie Underwearwood. okay, sorry. she can sing, but I still can’t stand her. Ugh. koff, Taylor Hick(s) Yeah yeah. I know people liked him. whatever. Chris Daughtry kicked his ass and outsang him.)
Anyway, back to my point. (and I do have one) Why is Paula Abdul on this show? Does anyone know? And more importantly, what the hell is she smokin’? It’s got to be some primo stuff cuz bitch don’t make no sense but she sho seems happy.
What I love most about Paula is the fact that she continually denies drinking or being under the influence of any mood-altering substance. Mmmmhmmmm. Funny, but I don’t really believe her. (FYI, you don’t have to watch much of the interview below to get where I’m coming from)

LOL, Mel. I saw some of those You Tube vids and she did look like she was floating on something. And during some auditions, she sounded out of it (in fact, in one city she “disappeared” for the rest of the auditions). But, now that they’re down to the top 14 or whatever, she seems together and serious to me (and commenting more on musical stuff than fluff). Perhaps she went on the wagon before they started the final rounds? I do think Chris rocked last year. I HEART Lakisha and Melinda this season. Please, America, send Antonella home. I also like Curly Chris, the other Chris, and Blake.

I don’t know…she doesn’t seem that bad to me. Overly happy and perky yes, but she’s no Danny Devito on The View.

OMG That’s crazy. I’ve seen a few clips of her looking loopy but they all could’ve been taken out of context. In this one she’s clearly either very drunk or on something.She’s on the show because no self-respecting artist could agree to do it in the first year because everyone thought it would flop and be a huge joke. Bigger question is why don’t they fire her. She makes that comment during the interview about how Seattle should take the “no publicity is bad publicity” attitude to Simon’s comments that Seattle had the worst singers… maybe she’s usng that philosophy herslef. maybe she’s so afraid she’ll get fired and replaced by a better respected and talented artist that she’s doing everything she can to raise her profile????
