Have a great weekend!

it’s Friday and I’m ALIVE!
Okay, so here’s the thing. I woke up Wednesday feeling fine. About an hour later, my head started to feel funny. Another hour went by and my head felt even funnier.
Hmmm. I’m getting a cold, I’m going to nip that in the bud right now. Vitamin C, Zicam, and Sudafed to the rescue.
Usually this works.
But on Thursday I woke up feeling worse. Like lots worse. I don’t do worse. I wanted better. I went to work, finished a project, came home and slept for 3 hours.
And still felt like reheated crap.
So I sucked it up and went to the walk in clinic b/c my doctor took the week off for vacation. (Which is totally uncool. Why on earth would my doc choose the one week I’m sick to take a vacay? Srsly.)
Anyway, I go to the clinic and am in and out in an hour. I had pretty much convinced myself that I did indeed have the swine flu. Or the blue bonnet bubonic plague. But no. Apparently I just had a very bad allergy attack.
I’ve never had an allergy attack but I can honestly say I don’t wanna have one again because this one kicked my ass. Or, more appropriately, it felt like it kicked me in the head.
Not long after I took my meds, I started feeling better. Three hours and two margaritas later, I was feeling almost normal. And this morning, I’m all good. Just have a little dry mouth from the meds.
I heart medication. I heart the walk in clinic doctor. I heart margaritas. And I am sooooo happy to have my big giant snot-filled head back to just being a big, empty head. <—go ahead, make your own jokes. I can take them now, because I'm no longer Cranky McCrankypants.
Happy Memorial Day weekend to my American pals. Any big plans?
wazzzup?
Yesterday was fabulous. Enjoyed the sun tremendously. Planning to enjoy today as well.
I’m over at Fictionistas this morning talking about 6th grade…if you don’t think you’ll be traumatized, pop over and read all about it.
Our 2nd car has been in the shop for a week now. I’m sick of this 1 car thing. I’m not very good at sharing. I need to hit the lottery so I can buy a new car. And a beach house–in Hawaii. And a pool boy…
Enough about me…how was your weekend?
busy day
Getting my hair did this morning. I’m 2 weeks overdue and trust me when I say, it’s obvious. I like my red hair, except for the fact that I can actually see the gray now when the roots grow out. When I was blond, the gray kinda just blended in.
Now I have no problem with gray hair, I just have no plans to ever actually be gray. Unless it’s that pretty, soft, white-gray…but then, I’ll never know if I have that hair or not because if things go as I plan, I’ll never see it.
I’m also having lunch with my h.s. boyfriend today. Since reconnecting, we tend to meet about once a month to catch up. We missed April because of our travel schedules, so today may be a long lunch. LOL I heard a rumor he’s riding his Harley if it isn’t raining… I’ll take a picture.
Speaking of pictures….(he’s gonna kill me for this) Here he is the summer b/t 8th and 9th grade…
wasn’t he just dreamy? *snort*
Sorry dude. Couldn’t resist.
Y’all have a good weekend! Got any plans?
Monday, Monday, Monday
I’m blogging at Fictionistas today about 10 things I wish I’d known when I was younger…
Today’s agenda: Getting my sparkle back on at the gym, meeting Arkansas Cyndi at Starbucks for some writing, cooking dinner, and chatting with friends.
Oxford was great. Had a super weekend with old friends. Enjoyed myself tremendously and was actually a little nostalgic.
How was your weekend? Accomplish anything? Do anything fun?
TGIF
So it’s Friday. And yes, I know I have no right to be happy about it since I just returned from Sungoddessville, but I don’t care. I’m happy.
Oh and it’s also May Day. Have fun wrapping up those May Poles today… (hmmm, I’m gonna let the safe sex euphemism go I think. Yep. This is me, letting it go.)
This will be a busy weekend. Tonight I have a soccer game to attend as well as a meeting with the lovely and talented Stacey Jay over a workshop we’re doing for our local writing group. (have you picked up her book yet? YOU ARE SO UNDEAD TO ME is such a great read. Go forth and buy it now. And while you’re there, pre-order BITE ME! <–shameless plug. Sue me. It's my blog!) Then tomorrow morning, I'm headed to Oxford (hey peeps! I'll be there 1 day and 1 day only! I'm up for lunch if you wanna holla!) I have a meeting with a Realtor at 2:00, we're going to put the HOUSE THAT WILL NOT GO AWAY back on the market. I know it will sell this time, but damn, I don't ever wanna go through this again. After that I'm meeting up with multi-pubbed hottie author ACE ATKINS who has been pimping me like the high class hooker I am to all the booksellers he knows. And he has some stuff to discuss with me. Which means I’ll buy him a beer and soak up whatever he has to offer. Then at 5:00 or so I’m having food and beverages with my friend Andrea who I’ve missed like a major organ. Then it’s a night on the square…or not. We’ll see.
Sunday, I drive home. Rest. And start over again on Monday.
Y’all got any big plans?
For today’s video, I Cure you…
Rainy Sundays
Today has been a fabulous day. It’s been raining all day, from light mistings to the occasional can’t-see-five-feet-in-front-of-you downpours.
And I’ve barely left the bed.
This morning, I drank a pot of coffee while helping American Title II finalist, Maria Geraci, work on her entry. Then I took a shower and went to lunch with the fam after they got back from mass. (Non-Catholic here living among the holy) After lunch, I put my jammies back on, grabbed my book (Lord of Sin) and got into bed.
Hubby did the same. We sent the kids off (banished them) to their part of the house to read for school…and we just lingered in bed. Awesome.
Tonight is the season premiere of Desperate Housewives and Grey’s Anatomy. I can’t wait. Yes, I’m a TV whore. And I’m proud of it.
okay, and I’m a quiz whore, too. Shut up.
You know that the best seducers turn the tables – and get their crush to seduce them. The one running has the power, and you’re a challenge that is worth the chase. You are a master of enticing and pulling back. Giving a little and taking some away. You are controlled enough to know rewards come after a long seduction dance.Even though you want to call, email, or say “I love you” first – you don’t!You’re style is the perfect mix of hot and cold – so much so that you have many suitors.Think Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany’s … or any of those creepy guys from the Bachelor. You’re skilled at inspiring a chase. The real test is picking the person to slow down for.
