Made it home.

We had an unexpected death in the family, so El Jefe and I headed off to Georgia for a few days of sadness and celebration.

I enjoyed meeting new members of his family. There were some laughter and good times, despite the very sad circumstances.

I also got to spend some quality time with these fellows every morning…

We returned last night…spent an hour stuck in traffic thanks to construction and morons who can’t drive. Sally Sparkle proved herself to be an excellent road trip car. I foresee more trips for much more fun reasons in the future.

Apparently we’re supposed to get “snow and sleet” today. So far, it’s just cold and rainy, though my favorite local weatherman has promised:

Team coverage of the approaching winter storm on Channel 7 News Midday Arkansas starting at 11:30 #arwx”

By golly, if Todd Yakoubian says it’s a ‘winter storm’, I’m gonna go buy my bread and booze!

Okay, maybe not. It’s supposed be almost 50 degrees tomorrow. It’s not like this is a real winter storm. Hmph.

Happy Wine Wednesday!

Love Hangover is not allowed…

Yesterday was a fabulous day off! I spent the day driving Sally Sparkles around with her Top Down! Everyone loves to go topless on a sunshiny day!

El Jefe and I drove to the river for a lovely picnic lunch, then he drove her around and was very excited at her awesomeness.

Last night, we had a quiet, candlelit nosh. I made us a fun little cracker and cheese plate, we had our wine & scotch, and a table cloth with all kinds of fun love stickers. Including ROBOTS. Robots make everything better.

In other car related news, I am now officially sporting a vanity plate on Sally Sparkles. 2 of my dreams have come true in 1 week. I need to check my horoscope and see if the planets are aligned or something.

and finally, I leave you with this…because it made me laugh.

and now you know. I’m just trying to be fair. That’s all.

Happy Friday! Peace, love and sparkles all around!

Meet Sally Sparkle

Ain’t she pretty? Happy Balemtime’s Day to me!!

We make a perfect couple.

I FINALLY GOT MY CONVERTIBLE THAT I’VE ALWAYS DREAMED OF HAVING! It feels good not to settle.

Hope y’all have a great VD. Be sure and take your cootie shots! Hope you get lots of sugar from your sweetie!

Go Forth and Read

Because I’m one funny bitch.

The Bachelor, Episode 7 The one where Sean goes on a date with 50 Shades of Cray.

Today is hair day!

Tomorrow is VD!

Friday is FRIDAY!

This week is looking so bright, I gotta wear shades.

Fat Tuesday!

I love a holiday that encourages me to wear my Fat Pants and eat pastry.

Done and Done.

Have a great Fat Tuesday…which is followed by Get Rid of AshyRoots Wednesday…aka HURR DAY!

Then VD.

Oh what a week. Sparkle on, my minions!

wooohoo!

Last night I had two different Girls Nights Out. I haven’t been able to play much in the past few months due to working all the time and spending what time I have off with my kids…so last night I made up for it!

My first Happy Hour was @ US Pizza with my Sister-in-Law GiGi, and two of my dearest and best friends, Robyn and Lynne. We had some beverages, I ate salad and breadsticks and we laughed a lot.

Then it was time to head to Cantina with my regular Thursday girls. No margarita for me though…I’m trying to watch my calories! So I had a beer, and then decided to celebrate my saved calories by ordering the apple pie. I shared it… don’t worry.

In other fun and glorious news… we are exactly 3 weeks from the Month of Mel! Are you guys ready for the awesome?

You’ve got 3 weeks to prepare. Is there anything you’d like to see happen during the Month of Mel? Maybe I should film a Mel-ocumentary…hmmmm.

Peace and love and all that jazz. Y’all have a great weekend and be sure to kiss someone you love!

happy birthday, mon.

Today is Bob Marley’s birthday. I shall fire up my Bob Marley Pandora station and chill all day.

Don’t worry about every little thing. Every little thing is gonna be all right.

We can all learn a lesson from his life philosophies. So go forth and love someone today.

happy pancake day, my ass.

Dammit, how can you have a happy pancake day when you’re serious about your training. I’m working hard and I can’t be distracted by the flapjack of goodness right now!

LOL Who am I kidding. I freaking love pancakes and I may make my very tasty super secret recipe pancakes tonight. If I make them silver dollar size, then they can be a dessert. And I’ll save the batter and make the boys pancakes for breakfast tomorrow….Mmmmmmm. My mouth just watered.

In other news, last night was my successful return to BootyCamp. My elbow is still hurting and I had to modify some of the exercises to work around the injury, but overall, it felt great. I’ve promoted myself from Beginner BootyCamp to Regular BootyCamp. It was definitely a harder workout, but I enjoyed it (as much as one can enjoy such things.)

This morning didn’t feel so great and I didn’t sleep well last night. I’m sure it was all those endorphins swimming around in my body.  When I did sleep, my dreams were awesome….

Stairs have been a challenge today…heh.

I’ll be hitting the gym at lunch to work out the kinks and soreness. See what a good girl I am? I deserve my pancakes…

Hope you guys have a happy Tuesday. I’ll have my Bachelor Recap posted at HDJM today…you’ll wanna check that out if you’re into milking goats in Montana….

if you’re sexy and you know it

SHAKE DAT ASS!

Damn. Wasn’t that concert great last night? You know, the Beyonce’ concert? Whoa. I never thought my girl crush could be elevated to another level, but somehow, some way, Beyonce’ made me love her even more. There are born entertainers, and this chick is one of them. Also, how perfect is her Brick House Body? That’s why I’m going back to Boot(y)Camp. So I can mold my awesome ass into a Beyonce’ BooTAY.

And OMG. DESTINY’S CHILD!

BTW, we only watched the concert. I’m glad the Ravens won the Super Bowl, but I wasn’t in the mood for football. And neither was El Jefe. So we watched movies and snuggled and enjoyed some alone time while the boys went to my bonus child’s house and ate ribs and watched the game with their bonus parents.

In some very sad news, one of my favorite places on earth is closing at the end of the month. The Hot Springs Brau Haus has been a very important place in my life for the past 18 years. I spent the majority of my birthdays there. The owner, John, became a dear friend. We became friends with Zac (aka The Angry Tuba Man) and Cheryl–the duo known as The Itinerant Locals. We watched their babies (Eureka and Zephyr) go from belly to babies to big kids on the stage…Ian did his first Chicken Dance at the Brau Haus when he was 18 months old. I had my first taste of Franziskaner Weissbier and Optimator at Brau Haus. Sigh. You will be missed….

squishyness

I’m feeling a little soft and squishy on my inside parts today. I think this feeling is called love. And maybe happiness. (or maybe it’s gas…)

Whatever it is, I kinda like it. A lot.

I think I shall smile all day. And possibly I’ll take a nap.

Hope y’all have a fantastic weekend filled with love and laughter.

Sorry I’m so cheesy today. I’ll do better next week, I promise. Until then, you’ll just have to put up with my goofy smile.
