Month of Mel 2012: Day the last

Technically tomorrow is the end of the Month of Mel but since I rarely blog on the weekend, I am going to wrap it up today.

The Month of Mel came in like a lion and is going out like a hungry lion. hah! I actually thought this week was going to be low key and tame, and then I decided at the last minute to go out last night. Let’s just say, I don’t usually do late nights (early mornings) on a school night, but I made an exception last night. And I’m glad I did. I love my people. They know just how to make it all better.

I had a great birthday month, overall. I have some wonderful friends who play along with my goofiness, who treat me like I’m awesome, and who never fail to make me laugh. I’m a very lucky girl.

Happy Friday y’all. May all your terrible ideas turn out to be awesome.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!
I’d also like to give a happy 17th shout out to my awesome niece, Taylor. Love you, kiddo! You were not 17 in this pic…and I was not a red head. hehe.

Month of Mel 2012: The final week

Sorry I haven’t been around this week. I hurt my shoulder doing yard work on Sunday, I took Monday off because I could barely turn my head or lift my arm. After applying heat to it for a few hours, El Jefe worked his magic and managed to ‘pop’ it back into place. Thank the gods, because, OUCH. That was unpleasant.

Yesterday wasn’t a good day, so I decided to stay away from the interwebs. Really it was best I did.

I played on Pinterest a while…It’s a fun way to relax, but I’m not a Pinterest ho like a lot of folks. I did find some fun things so check them out if you feel like it.

I’d give just about anything for this ring. I ❤ it hard.

And this reminded me of Phoebe in Friends. I loved Phoebe.

Here’s the actual clip from Friends. Now be sure and hold your lobster’s claw when you are going for a walk in your tank tonight.

Month of Mel 2012: Day 22

Welcome to Nightmare on Melf Street.

I had the most horrific dream last night. HORRIFIC. Unimaginable, even. And yet it happened not once…but twice. Yes. The same dream happened twice. I got up at 4:00 to watch TV and rid myself of the images that remained. I was awake for nearly an hour, went back to bed and dreamed the same dream. I couldn’t wake myself up, either.

I’m really slightly traumatized by it. I won’t go into graphic details because nobody else should be subjected to my nightmare but I will tell you, the main bad guy, looked a lot like the guy the actor who played Mitch Laurence on One Life to Live. This guy personifies creepy to me. Part of it is the smarmy character he portrayed and part of it is just the way he looks. Either way, let’s just say what he did was very brutal and even after he was captured, he got very angry and escaped his Hannibal Lector type bondage and came after me–again. In both dreams. He had Hulk strength and major anger and psychotic issues, but he never turned green.

Here are a few interpretations for some of the happenings going on in my dream (if you believe in this sort of thing.)

This dream indicates vengeful or resentful feelings toward the opposite sex. You feel that you have been violated or that you have been taken advantage of. Something or someone is jeopardizing your self-esteem and emotional well-being. Things are being forced upon you.”

“This indicates negative feelings that are being pushed out of the unconscious. Feelings of hate, aggression or anger which you may have suppressed need to be addressed head on.”

“This suggests that you are feeling lost, overwhelmed, and/or inadequate. You feel that you are unable to take charge of yourself.”

“This indicates that you need to be re-energized.There may be a situation in your life that you are having difficulty in getting a handle on.”

Hmmmm. Okay. Sounds like I may need to hit up a therapist soon. Or maybe retail therapy. Or Sand, Sun and Surf therapy. Or maybe Vitamin Margarita… or maybe just a sweet happy of some kind? Maybe I’ll run by Francesca’s or Box Turtle this weekend and see if I can’t treat myself to something sweet that will “re-energize” me. Oh, guess that qualifies as retail therapy.

Whatever that awful dream means, I can tell you one thing for sure–I never want to have that dream again.

Monat der Mel 2012: Tag 21

Ahem, and for Day 21 of the Month of Mel we celebrate in Lederhosen and drink from steins…because yesterday I sold German rights to BITE ME! in German language worldwide. Plans are for a September 2012 release!

Maybe it will sell well and they’ll decide to purchase rights to LOVE SUCKS! next.

In other, less exciting news, IT IS RAINING ALL THE RAIN today. ALL. THE. RAIN.

We needed it to wash away the pollen, but we didn’t need this much. And we’re expecting up to 5 inches more today. Whoa and Damn. Lots of water falling from the sky and rising up from the rivers.

Despite the gloomy day, I’m a very happy camper. There’s extra sparkle to go around, so if you need some, line up. I gots plenty.

Month of Mel 2012: Day 20

Welcome to all the new traffic! I’m sorry to say I’m not the Melissa Francis you’re looking for, though she is awesome. I “interviewed” her in 2009 after she emailed me. I was getting lots of searches for “Melissa Francis Pregnant” and she totally was, but she wasn’t ready to let the bun out of the oven yet…haha

So, for everyone currently searching for

Melissa Francis boobs (I do have a nice rack, but I don’t think you’re looking for me)
Melissa Francis hot (aw, I’m blushing)
Melissa Francis nude (you really DON’T wanna see that)
Melissa Francis tits (see boobs)
Melissa Francis sexy legs (not really, but hers are great)
Melissa Francis Fox or CNBC

this is who you’re looking for:

I’m sad to say she’s now with *barf* Fox Business, but hey, even good people can be drawn to the dark side… as long as she keeps her sense of humor, she’ll be just fine. You can find her on twitter: @MelissaAFrancis

This is who I am:

I’m a red head; she’s blond. I’m write fiction; she works for Fox (same thing, almost…) I’m a smart ass; she’s smart. This is my birthday month, hers is in December.

While you’re here, I think you should check out my books and buy them because A: I’m awesome and would like to get a royalty check one day. B: You’re already here, so all you have to do is click the links on the sidebar to support the arts. C: Don’t you want all Melissa Francis’s to be successful?

Here, I’ll make it really easy for you:

BITE ME!

LOVE SUCKS!

at 8.99 per book, this is quite a bargain! (also available on Kindle and Nook…)

Month of Mel 2012: Days 17, 18 & 19

St. Paddy’s Day came and went without one pinch. I did get a kiss or two, though. *wink* Being a redhead on an Irish Party Day really does have its advantages.

The boys and I celebrated Ian’s 18th birthday at the horse races on Friday. We had a great time. We all wore our hats, and they wore their “Charlie Sheen” shirts…and we picked horses, took pictures and laughed a lot.

Ian gave his new camera a good run for its money. We’ll see how the pictures turned out and if he has an eye for photography. He’s thinking about majoring in art in college and he’d like an emphasis in photography, so he better start practicing!

Speaking of photography, El Jefe got me some lenses for my iPhone. You can’t use them with the flash, but they take pretty great pics in natural light.

I’m digging the ladies in the fisheye lens…

I love taking pictures. I miss my SLR days, maybe one day, I’ll treat myself to a digital SLR and reteach myself all the manual photography stuff that I’ve long forgotten thanks to the easy digital point and shoot…and my iPhone point and shoot. haha.

The Ides of Melf 2012

I have the best friends in the world. Yesterday they made me feel special and loved and it was wonderful.

Today, it’s back to work. Tomorrow, Ian turns 18 and I’ll probably take to my bed. After we go to Oaklawn that is…

Here’s my goddaughter dressing up as me for my birfday:

And here we are being silly:

And check this out! I bought myself a birthday gift that I LOVE so much. I’ve never had a Coach purse before… And now I do. It’s so me!

Celebrate the Ides of Melf by doing something sweet and romantic for someone you love.
