Then here’s a pic of us in Orlando: 09 (this is actually the RT convention.)

RT09RWA was in DC in 09 and I was there, too. Here’s a link to the most awesome night ever…. Drag Queen Karaoke

I can’t find a picture of me and Maria together in DC. I know there is one…but, this will have to do as a substitute:

DC 09I miss my people! I vow to attend next year, no matter what. (she says, hoping that her empty wallet and dry writing well will fill up soon…)

In Compound Bootcamp Bootyville news, I rested last night. Will be doing major lower body damage to myself this evening. It will be painful and tomorrow I will be using a walker. With hot pink tennis balls for feet.

To all my friends in Atlanta, I miss you. I’m thinking about you. And if you do Drag Queen Karaoke night…PLEASE SEND ME ALL THE PICTURES! Also, good luck to you, my dear friend Maria! Bring home that RITA and make momma proud!

Halloween Recap. A Birthday. A Request.

Last night was fun.

Don’t worry, we only fed on the flesh of those who dared to Trick or Treat without a costume.
Today is Maria Geraci’s birthday! I’m not gonna tell you how old she is, but I will tell you I will always be younger than her by a decade. 😀 I love you, amiga!

And now for a serious request. Any love, light, happy thoughts or prayers you can send up for Princess Purple would be great. She’s undergoing major surgery today. Be Strong, Bit! Princess Pink is sending you all sorts of sparkle today!

Maria Geraci: A GIRL LIKE YOU

Today is release day for my BFF writer friend in Florida…This is her 4th book. You better get your happy-ass out there and buy it. Especially if you enjoy reading, fun, love, more fun, and good writing.

This woman knows how to tell a story. Period.

Every ugly duckling is a swan in waiting…

Emma Frazier is smart, hardworking, and loves her job as a journalist for a Florida lifestyle magazine. Emma knows she’s no great beauty, but she’s pretty certain she has a shot with her handsome new boss, Ben Gallagher—until Emma overhears a mutual acquaintance refer to her as the “ugly friend.” In an effort to reclaim her battered self-esteem, Emma decides to impress Ben at work by promising an exclusive interview with NASCAR legend, Trip Monroe.

Emma and Trip went to high school together and although it’s been fourteen years since they’ve spoken, Emma is certain she can score an interview with the elusive super star. But connecting with Trip turns out to be harder than Emma imagined. Her quest for the interview leads her back to her tiny hometown of Catfish Cove, where old secrets and a new romantic interest shake up Emma’s views on life and teach her that maybe the key to finding true love is as simple as accepting yourself for the person you were always meant to be.

  • Today is Wednesday which is my longest day of the week. But it should be a good one, and that makes me happy.

WINE WEDNESDAY and other assorted important things

I don’t care what I have to do to make tonight happen, but yes…it is going to be Wine Wednesday whether you like it or not. And if you don’t like it, what are you doing reading my blog?

I started reading my friend Stacey Jay’s book, JULIET IMMORTAL. Wow. She hooked me on page 1. And not many books do that, y’all. Buy this book. Read it. Love it. And tell her about it.

Go forth and do my bidding.

Guess what else I’m reading? Maria Geraci‘s newest manuscript A GIRL LIKE YOU. Yes, I’m that special. While you wait for this amazing read to hit the shelves you should go and pick up her other titles:

Make it so. Yesterday was her birthday, after all.

In writing news, I’ve added a few more paragraphs to my new book, I’ve pledged to write something everyday this month….Also, that really awesome boyfriend of mine helped me with science stuff again last night. I ♥ smart people. And n3rds.

Happy Birthday, Maria Geraci!

To my dear BFF. I have missed you this year….Also, Rader says “Be sure and tell Miss GerACHi happy birthday for me.” So you’ve been told…
2011 is the first year since we became friends that we didn’t see each other. That is unacceptable. Let’s make sure we change that in 2012. Love you, amiga!

I command you to buy this book! And if you’re really in the Christmas spirit, you should buy it twice!

BOYFRIEND OF THE MONTH CLUB by (my best friend) Maria Geraci

At thirty, Grace O’Bryan has dated every loser in Daytona Beach. After the ultimate date-from-hell, Grace decides to turn her dwindling book club into a Boyfriend of the Month Club, where women can discuss the eligible men in their community. Where are the real life twenty-first century versions of literary heroes such as Heathcliff and Mr. Darcy?

Could it be successful and handsome Brandon Farrell, who is willing to overlook his disastrous first date with Grace and offers financial help for her parents’ failing Florida gift shop? Or maybe sexy dentist Joe Rosenblum, who’s great with a smile but not so great at commitment? Unfortunately, like books, men cannot always be judged by their covers…

I’ve read this book. It’s warm, funny, and exceptionally well written. It’s the exact kinda book that makes a perfect Christmas gift. It’s the book that will make non-readers want to read. It’s the book you should be buying right now.

Go forth. Purchase. and Enjoy.

Rapid Topic Change!

Okay, so I’m not quite done blogging. Sorry.

Yesterday I posted a clip on Facebook from When Harry Met Sally. It is my 2nd favorite movie speech of all time. (care to guess what my fav scene is? Maria Geraci knows…) Anyway, here’s the speech from NYE scene where Harry tells Sally why he loves her:

I love that you get cold when it’s 71 degrees out, I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich, I love when you get a little crinkle above your nose when you’re looking at me like I’m nuts, I love that after I’ve spent the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it’s not because I’m lonely, and it’s not because it’s New Year’s Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to begin as soon as possible.

Yeah. That.

Too bad there are way too many people out there who try to be something they’re not and then aren’t ever really loved for the person they really are.

Local Brewry Diamond Bear tapped their 2nd round of Two Term IPA last week. My thanks to Fishdog, for sharing his six-pack with me. I love me some Hoptastic Beer!

fun, fun, fun (til her daddy to the flamingo away)

This is Frederico. He pointed us into the direction of fun all weekend long. I can’t believe that was our last hoorah! There was much tubing and laughing and lazing about. And the weather was perfect. A fabulous end to a fabulous summer. I’m curious to see if my daddy decides to remove Frederico from his post before next summer. My guess is, poor Frederico will be forcibly removed before too long.

In other news, have you seen my friend Maria Geraci’s book trailer for THE BOYFRIEND OF THE MONTH CLUB yet?

I kinda wanna do one now. Hmmmm.

Did y’all have a good weekend? Ruby the Pug sure had fun, too.

On my way…

I’m East Bound.

See ya in a few hours Geraci clan!

I’ll be gone a week. I can’t promise to post every day, but I’ll try. If you’re in Orlando, I’ll be signing both BITE ME! and LOVE SUCKS! at the Literacy Signing at the Swan/Dolphin hotel. Come by and see me!

(also…just a friendly reminder that LOVE SUCKS! hit’s the shelves tomorrow. Don’t forget to buy your minimum of two copies copy!!!!)
