snuff

I’ve told you guys before that sometimes I wake with a song in my head. Not too long ago, it was Delta Dawn (I know right?), one time last year it was I’m Not Lisa from 1975 (click the link for the best ear worm ever!) Recently it’s been Pink’s Raise Your Glass. Partly because I love that song and partly because it’s being played constantly right now.

But today, I woke to one of my favorite Slipknot songs. And here’s the video. It’s super creepy and awesome. The song itself is haunting

Snuff

hey baby. what’s your sign?

Well the good news is, I’m still a Pisces. Whew.

I have to tell you, I’m not sure I want to be anything else, so if I had woken up yesterday to hear that I was now an Aquarius or an Aries or some brand new unpronouncable sign, I would probably have been upset. But since I’m still a Pisces, I’m all good. Also, CNN reports your Zodiak has not changed and why. If CNN says so you know it’s true because they are “The worldwide leader in news.” And a new Zodiak sign is big news, yo.

Yesterday was one of those days I would have happily erased from the calendar if I had a magic day eraser. It was absolutely, positively craptastic. But the good news is, I have some amazing friends and they really know how to make me feel better, no matter what’s going on. I am a lucky girl, no matter how unlucky I feel sometimes.

My horoscope says this is gonna be a banner month for me when it comes to love and money. I’ll raise my glass to that…

I am definitely wrong in all the right ways. Have a great weekend y’all!

Oh Buddy!

Buddy the Elf: I think you’re really beautiful and I feel really warm when I’m around you and my tongue swells up.

I had so much fun with the movie quote yesterday, I’ve decided to post some of my favorites from now until Christmas. Or until I just forget to do it. I’ll be taking bets on which happens first…Christmas or me being too lazy forgetting to do it.

I think I love this quote because it’s amazingly romantic without trying to be. It made my heart swell up the first time I heard it.

You know what else I love about this movie? They sing my favorite wintery song in it!

I don’t know why I love that song so much… but I do. It makes me all tingly on my inside parts. And I actually love this movie. It’s on my holiday must rewatch list. There’s something about Buddy’s naivete and willingness just to go for it that makes me smile.

Hmmmm, what movie will I quote tomorrow?

ready or not…

It’s Friday! and by the time you read this, I’ll be on my way to Augusta, AR to have a little chat with the high school book club.

Word on the street is they loved BITE ME! and are ready to read LOVE SUCKS!

This makes Melf very happy.

After my chat I’m heading to Oxford to hang with El Jefe for the weekend. It’s his birthday weekend, ya know.

Oh and guess what? Next Friday, I’ll be watching the Neon Trees live and in person! I can’t wait…

in which she begs…and then offers prizes!

Okay, she doesn’t beg, but she is going to introduce you to a fabulous charity and ask you to donate.

It’s a really good cause and unlike any other I’ve ever seen. My friend Christian is participating and is trying to raise $15,000 for Spin for Kids. Look at what they accomplished through last year’s donations:

  • Opened the new Will-A-Way Campsite in Winder, GA. Their second fully-accessible overnight campsite with cabins, medical lodge, accessible swimming pool, archery, high and low ropes, adventures courses and much more.
  • Added over 1,000 campers to their roster this summer. 1,000 new children in one summer!
  • Added Selby’s Tree house to the Rutledge Campsite; an educational nature experience center and overnight camping facility.
  • Increased all around capacity for Overnight Camping Programs and extended Camping Programs (think “traditional” summer camp experience).
  • Added drum and percussion lessons as well as group musical sessions. This is a huge favorite with the children. Try to picture 100 disabled little fellas with various ethnic pecussiom instruments in a drumlines. That’s amazing.
  • Audited at 78% of donor money going directly to Camp Twin Lakes programming. 78%!!

Please go to Christian’s personal donation page, even if you can only donate $1. It’s a worthy cause.

And…if you donate, come back and tell me and you’ll be entered into a drawing for both of my books and a $25 gift card to Amazon. Tweet or blog this and you’ll be entered twice–just leave a link in your comment. So give a little and get something back in return. The contest runs until October 1. How awesome is that? (pretty awesome, tyvm)

In other news, this song has been in my head every morning for the past week…now I shall give you my early morning ear worm:

Foozball is (not) the DEBIL

First of all, WATERBOY is one of the bestest movies ever. If you disagree, then why do you even read my blog because it’s obvious you don’t get “me.” LOL

Rader has a football jamboree tonight. They are playing two different teams, 10 plays each game. It’s not a ‘real’ game per se, but it will be good practice. I’m stoked. Last year my Tuesday nights were filled with trivia and Touchdown Sally’s. This year, they’ll be filled with football.

His position has changed some since my last post. It seems that he is well suited to play left offensive tackle and he’ll be the back up center. He’s stoked because he’s starting offense. I’m stoked because he’s playing football. LOL Unlike Bobby Boucher’s momma, I don’t think Foosball is the Debil!

run and tell THAT, homeboy

I can’t enough of these two videos. The first one gets good about 43 seconds, when they start actually interviewing the victim and her brother. Watch it. Then watch the music video. And THEN tell me you didn’t laugh your arse off.

The song is available on iTunes. I’m thinking it’s a ‘must buy.’

Run and tell THAT. Oh, and you’re welcome for the earworm. 🙂

Happy birthday to my dear friend Dee Dee. Love you!

Pow! Bam! Wammo! and check out the Pink Camo!

Thank you, Kitteh for sending this link. Best. Pug. Ever. (Next to Ruby, of course)

In other news…wanna take a sneak peek of LOVE SUCKS!? Go here. It comes out next Tuesday, yanno…

And it more fun news…Lola did my toes yesterday (sing with me! Her name was Lola, she was a toe girl…) Check out my Pink Camo Toes (NOT to be confused with Pink Camel Toe….ewwww gross)

And finally, yesterday was No-Wine Wednesday…(orange vodka–fewer calories) and we celebrated one of our favorite waiter’s (Trey) Birthday–with a limerick.

There once was a waiter named Trey
Who celebrated his 13th 26th birthday
He wanted a gift
But became quite miffed
When all the girls gave him was word play.

for the love of frost bite and peat moss…SIMMER! SIMMER!

Mrs. Munger’s Class always makes me giggle like a school girl…. these are all about a minute or so long. Totally worth watching…

Happy Hump-Day. Or Wine Wednesday. Or no-Wine Wednesday. Or whatever you decide to celebrate today.

SIMMER! SIMMER!

can I get a what-what?

Yeah, I have no idea why that’s the title of this post…I just wanted to say it.

Had a great time with all my girls last night. Seriously, I don’t think I could survive my life if I didn’t have Thursdays.

This is short and sweet today. I’m headed to work, then off to finish up some painting and start the arduous task of moving. Pics to come soon!

For my friends…one of my favorite songs by Flogging Molly
