Thursday Night Lights

#66 (aka Rader P. Francis) for the Catholic High freshman football team texted me from the bus yesterday as they were headed to their ballgame:

#66: Be expecting a 40-50 yarder today. I’m in the zone, judging from the reps I was getting before we left.

Me: Awesome. U better not let me down

#66: I certainly don’t plan on it…

Fastforward to the game. 4 punts. Two decent 30+ yarders. One maybe 20 yards long and 50 yards high…. and then…this one:

42 yards of nothing but beauty. (video courtesy of Fishdog)

Here are the texts on the way home:

#66: Well that sucked…Except for my 3rd punt! [actually his 4th but that’s ok] That was freakin’ awesome!!!!!

Me: Amazing!!!!!!

#66 ikr!!! You should TOoOoOtally blog aboot it.!

Me: 😉 I will

#66: Huzzah! The prophecy has been fullfilled!

Then it ended with the various proud of you, love you, love you too, see ya tomorrow stuff.

Yep. My baby. He’s got a foot on him!

And speaking of babies…Check out Little-Itty-Bitty in her favorite person’s arms. (hint, not mine…my arms aren’t hairy….)

Sorry if the sweetness gave you a cavity.

Happy Friday y’all! Today is awesome, and I have declared it the official Love on a Redhead day.

and don’t forget to sparkle!

Oh. My. God. Becky.

Look at her butt!

It’s like, so big!

yeah, I heard BABY GOT BACK on the radio this morning and I’ve been jammin’ ever since. It’s totally today’s theme song…

Here I am in 2010 doing karaoke to BABY GOT BACK with a couple of my writer friends at the RWA Conference in Orlando. Apparently there is a video out there somewhere…thankfully, I don’t know the location…

Also saw this today and it made me LOLOLOL

to all my friends in Florida, stay safe…and “Outta Sight!”

Have a great weekend! Stay sexy and sparkle on!

today…

I woke with a helluva headache this morning. I got up at 4:30 a.m., took Rader to football practice, came home and popped some painkillers and slept a little bit more. I was an hour late for work, but thankfully my co-workers are cool. The tardiness was worth it because I am now headache free and to celebrate, I’m wearing my red sundress.

Sorry you can’t see the full dress, but you get the point. I’m smiling. I’m wearing red. All is right in the world.

I’m having to deal with a little bit of pettiness right now and it’s kind of difficult for me because I just don’t understand making big deals out of little things. I mean, sure, I get hormonal on occasion and overreact to little things every once in a while, we all do. But pettiness just to be spiteful? Yeah, I don’t get it. It just makes people seem ugly and small. So I’m doing some mental yoga and moving on, because somebody has to let go…and thankfully because I can, I’ll still be smiling. (See photo as proof). I like being happy on the inside and out. It really does make life so much better. So for today (and everyday that I can manage) this will be my motto:

Isn’t that sunset beautiful? It brings me lots of peace. I took this last year at Lake Ouachita.

I also am a big fan of NEVER LET ANYONE DULL YOUR SPARKLE. Hah! As if…

In other news, my monkey-boy Rader will be a freshman in high school tomorrow. I can’t believe it. And my tree-frog Ian will be a freshman in college next week. Where did the time go?

sassy bitch.

Sometimes a girl just feels sassy. Today is one of those days. And I’m that girl.

Yeah. I know. You wanna be me, too.

I can’t wait til this afternoon when I am meeting my sister and friends for a beverage on the patio at US Pizza. Cold beer, yummy food, good company.

Monat der Mel 2012: Tag 21

Ahem, and for Day 21 of the Month of Mel we celebrate in Lederhosen and drink from steins…because yesterday I sold German rights to BITE ME! in German language worldwide. Plans are for a September 2012 release!

Maybe it will sell well and they’ll decide to purchase rights to LOVE SUCKS! next.

In other, less exciting news, IT IS RAINING ALL THE RAIN today. ALL. THE. RAIN.

We needed it to wash away the pollen, but we didn’t need this much. And we’re expecting up to 5 inches more today. Whoa and Damn. Lots of water falling from the sky and rising up from the rivers.

Despite the gloomy day, I’m a very happy camper. There’s extra sparkle to go around, so if you need some, line up. I gots plenty.

THE DAY OF MEL 2012

Guess who contacted me to wish me a very special birthday? I’m placing it under the cut because it my offend some of your delicate sensibilities. (If it does, you’re probably new to me…Hi! I’m Melf and I am an adult, and this is my blog, and sometimes I say adult things. Also it’s my birthday, so there. Also, you should go buy my books so I can quit my day job.)

I KNEW MATT DAMON WASN’T OVER ME! I’m sorry EL Jefe. But it’s Matt Damon. I know you understand… 😉

It is the Day of Mel and my co-workers brought me colorful sprinkled donuts! El Jefe took my car to be fixed (because he is made of awesome). My girlfriend is apparently buying my lunch today (and by “lunch” I mean “wine”) and my boss just gave me the afternoon off to celebrate (okay, she didn’t want me coming back to work hammered. whatever.) Life is pretty awesome.

Month of Mel 2012: Day 9

Excitement is building for tomorrow night’s Disco Extravaganza! We will be decorating tonight. There will be a sparkly pedicure sometime tomorrow…and possibly the purchase of a white suit for El Jefe. Oh yeah, and then it’s gonna be ON.

Hopefully there will be some quality pictures that I can share with you here next week. If there aren’t, then you know the party was even better than expected.

Y’all have a great weekend! I know I’m going to….

Peace.

Month of Mel 2012: Days 6 & 7

Sorry about missing yesterday. I got up late, was busy at work, and by the time I got home, I just didn’t feel like blogging.

However, my Bachelor The Women Tell All recap did get posted yesterday…You should click the link and go read it. And you should retweet it and forward it on and like it on facebook and do whatever you can to help a sista out. Actually, I think you should go read all my Bachelor recaps because I’m funny. Also we’re having a contest and the more people who go to Hey Don’t Judge Me from my posted links, the better chance I have at winning $100. I’m not gonna lie. I want to win.

BTW, we’ve added two knew shows…my Canuck friends should be very happy we’ve added BOMB GIRLS! and we’ve also added White Chapel.

The girls got a little stabby with each other on Women Tell All. I really wanted to see some real blood or at least some Jell-o Wrestlin’…sadly, it was just their words that cut like a knife.

ION, mine and Bell Bottoms’ Studio 54 themed Housewarming/Birthday Bash is getting closer. Last night I purchased some Gold and Silver door fringe as well as a bubble machine. I may or may not have also added these to my outfit of awesome:

Now, if I can just make sure my hair does what it’s supposed to do. Note to self: Buy lots of Rave #4.

El Jefe is going to have an amazing mustache. AMAZING. Now we just need to find him some gold chains…
